My Top 5 Summer Reads

Now that Summer is officially over - can you believe that?! - it's time for me to share with you my top 5 Summer reads. These are my favourite books that I read this Summer, it was pretty difficult to choose just 5, but I did it!

I have written reviews for all of these books, click on the titles to read them!

Here they are:

1. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

This book is amazing. If you're starting university (or college!) then I really recommend this book to you as it follows a teenage girl as she ventures into the world of college. I loved the writing style, the characters were great and it's just such a lovely story. I will definitely be reading more of Rainbow Rowell's books.

2. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

I feel like I have spoken about this book so much lately, that's mainly because I am so excited for the movie that comes out in October! This book is a thriller/mystery about, as the title suggests, a girl on a train. Every character in this book holds lots of secrets and  it's not until the very end of the book that you discover these secrets and everything comes together. I reckon this book would've been better to read in Autumn (it's one of my Autumn recommendations), but hey ho! I still really enjoyed it.

3. Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

As soon as I started this book, I knew it was going to be good. And let me tell you, it really is! I'm so glad that I read it during the hotter months because it just seems like the perfect Summer book, although you could definitely read it at any time of the year. I love to shop, so I could relate to this book a little bit! Also, it's so funny. Sophie Kinsella is a brilliant author.

4. Looking for Alaska by John Green

John Green seems to have a way of creating stories that stay with you forever. I read The Fault in Our Stars a couple of years ago and I can still remember that story and once again, Looking for Alaska has stuck with me. This is another book that you could read at any time of the year although it's probably more of a Wintery read. The book is short but powerful, you'll wonder how such a big story can fit in so few pages. I know that this story will stick with me for a long time.

And lastly,

5. All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

I read this book when I started book blogging a couple of months ago, mainly because this book was everywhere! It was so popular, I knew I had to read it and I'm glad that I did. This is another book that has a powerful storyline, one that is very sad and will make you think a lot. Although this book is sad, I did enjoy it and thought it was perfect for the Summertime. Also, I love the cover!
