Top 16 in 2016

Can you believe it's 2017 already? I'm quite excited for 2017, I'm looking forward to seeing what happens to this blog! I have lots of ideas and I can't wait for all of the book releases!

I thought it would be fun to choose my top 16 books from 2016, which was quite difficult to do because I read so many amazing books! If you want to see all the books that I read this year, let me know in the comments! I'd be more than happy to write a post about them.

Anyway, let's get started!

Warning - This will be a long post so grab yourself a mug of hot chocolate, snuggle up in a blanket and get reading!

16. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

I read this book before I started this blog, so I never wrote a book review for it! However, if you'd like me to write a review, let me know in the comments!

This book is a lovely summery romance story that, if you're like me, will make you wish you weren't single... *sigh*

15. Looking for Alaska by John Green

This is the second John Green book that I've read and I'm happy to say that I really enjoyed it! It made me laugh, it made me tear up, it was an emotional rollercoaster. Boy, did I love this book.

14. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

I read this book with my good bookworm friend Eloise from Eloise is Reading (link here).
This is the first book that I read by Rainbow Rowell, I really enjoyed her writing style and this story was so cute! It was such a quick read as well, I highly recommend it.

13. Faceless by Alyssa Sheinmel

I read this book fairly recently and it was such an amazing book that made me revaluate my life and how I think of things. It was a good wake up call. Because of this book, I'm no longer so bothered about what people think of me and I try to make the most of what I've got. It was a great reminder that despite everything that can go wrong, I'm lucky to be alive.

12. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

This book really is a tear jerker. If you've read it, you'll know what I mean. If you haven't read it, what on earth are you doing? Go read it, now! You can thank me later.

This is another book that I read before I made my blog, however my Mum read this book recently and wrote a fantastic review for it which I posted on my blog.

11. Matched by Ally Condie

Once again, this is another book that I read before I made my blog... There are some good reviews on Goodreads though so make sure you check them out!

I really enjoyed this book, I had wanted to read it for years and I was so happy when I finally got it. It was a really interesting concept and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the trilogy.

10. All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

Finally, a book that I read when I had my blog! I actually read this book because of the book blogging community, I kept seeing this book all over social media and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I read it when I was really poorly in the summer and it gave me something to do. This book literally kept me on the edge of my seat, it was addictive and very, very sad.

9. Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

I had this book on my bookshelf for about... 153 years?! I have no idea why it took me so long to read it, I think it was because I had seen the movie and thought I didn't need to read the book. I was wrong. This book is great and I am now addicted to any books by Sophie Kinsella, I have to try and stop myself everyday from reading her books so that I can get stuff done... It's very difficult.

8. In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware

I read this book when Halloween was around the corner, I was in the mood for anything spooky. It certainly was spooky. I hadn't read anything by Ruth Ware before, her writing is addictive and full of suspense. This story was so well thought out. I loved it.

7. The Girl Who Came Back by Susan Lewis

My Mum bought me this book as a 'well done' for doing well in my exams *squeals*! I'm so glad that she did, because this book is amazing. So amazing that I made her read it too and she also loved it, a lot. I now want to make everyone read this book. Although it's a bit scary, it truly is amazing. And a bit freaky, but still great.

6. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

After reading Cinder (which is also on this long list of books, somewhere...) I had to read this book to find out what happens next. This series is so good. I am now desperate to read Cress, I have it and I stare at it for a good 5 minutes every day, without fail. However, I've been trying to save it for 2017, which means that I can finally read it! That is, after I've finished my current read... Wish me luck.

5. This Savage Song by V. E. Schwab

I was sent this book by a great company called SocialBookCo. I have a fab link for you guys if you'd like to buy this book at a super duper cheap and amazing price, here it is -

It would make a good birthday present, just saying.

I really enjoyed this book, it was just simply spectacular. If you're looking for an action packed adventure full of suspense and questions and secrets and friendship (no romance!) then this is the book for you!

4. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

This is the book that got me into physiological thrillers this year. Thank you Paula Hawkins, you magician. You wrote an amazing book and I never thought I'd say this but I am now a big fan of this genre.

3. Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

I read this book before I had made my blog (which is soo annoying...) so once again I don't have a review for it. Then again, I shouldn't have to write one because everyone should have read this book by now, right? Surely everyone has read this book. If they haven't, they are really missing out.

I gave this book  🌟🌟🌟🌟

2. Cinder by Marissa Meyer

After a lot of encouragement from bookworm friends, I finally started reading some fantasy/sci-fi books. One of them being Cinder by Marissa Meyer. This book is just perfect and because of it, I am now a big lover of fantasy. Also, this book's ending was just, crazy and perfect and mind-blowing.

1. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

Where do I begin with this book? I really don't have any words good enough to describe just how fantastic this book is. I just had to make this book my favourite of 2016, I haven't read a book this good in a long time. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Like, literally, I can't wait. I might have to read it this very second. Help.
